I was assigned to a mobile advisory team, at first as an assistant team leader, then team leader, in Kontum in 1969/70 after I graduated from Infantry OCS in ’68 and an assignment with the 82nd at Bragg. I see by this website that there were several Kontum teams, but I’ve forgotten which one was mine. For several months the team was located near the Dak Black bridge, and, as I remember, somewhere near the hamlet of Pleio-Pleiop. Phan-Tu (the “u” written with a whisker) was my interpreter, and one of my NCOs was Matthew or Matthews.
I would be grateful for any information about that time, place and personnel.
Hi Jack,
I’m hoping you can read the note I recently posted. Basically, I’m looking for information about the mobile advisory team in Kontum where I served in 1969/70.
Regards,
Philip Lamade
